Athletics allow us to aspire, to rise toward our best selves and bask in the incredible support of our community. The Eaton Family-Athlon is about bringing our community together to ensure all kids have those kinds of opportunities.
On August 21st, 2021, our community will gather together for a fun multi-element, track-and field style event at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon (see our COVID-19 protocols). While the world's fastest track and field athletes will be competing in the same venue on the 21st, out most important athletes (our youth) will have an opportunity to kick things off that morning at 8:00AM (check-in begins at 7:40AM).
Participants (and a parent) in the Eaton Family-Athlon will also have an opportunity to attend the Prefontaine Classic as part of their participation.
Proceeds from the event will benefit key community organizations making it possible for ALL youth to access inclusive, quality sports programming.

Friends of the Children–Lane County
Defeating cycles of poverty and disadvantage, like many hard-won victories, isn't easy, but it can be done. Friends of the Children–Lane County partners with youth and families facing a path strewn with hurdles most of us will never have to face. Friends of the Children helps those families overcome these obstacles by providing families with a professional mentor from the time the youth is 4-6 years old until they graduate high school– 12+ years, no matter what! This level of support is what it takes to ensure that all kids can get to the starting line.
KIDSPORTS mission is simple "all kids play." Research shows that children who participate in sports and regular physical activity get better grades, stay in school longer, and are more likely to stay active and healthy for their entire lifetime. Active healthy kids become healthy adults who in turn make for active healthy communities. That's something we can get behind.
In addition to creating opportunities to play for almost 4,000 children last year, KIDSPORTS teaches coaches how to build children up and emphasizes the joyful elements of sports.
All Kids Play.
