New Friends Clubhouse

Since initiating services in 2020, Friends of the Children – Lane County has been providing services without the benefit of a physical home base. Over the summer of 2021, the organization was able to rent a classroom form 4J at the Arts and Technology Academy.

“It was a game changer for us to be able to get our staff together and its simply amazing to get the opportunity to watch our Friends work their magic,” said Matt Springer.

In September Friends – Lane County was able to find a more permanent location at 465 Washington Street in downtown Eugene. Since initiating their program in partnership with Eugene School District 4J in 2020, the organization has been asked to extend services to additional families in Bethel and South Lane County school districts to meet the growing needs of families that have been hardest hit by the economic fallout of the COVID pandemic. The expansion of services was a key part of choosing a location. The Clubhouse, on the corner of 5th and Washington in Eugene, has easy freeway access to multiple parts of Lane County and is close to numerous amenities for children, including WJ Skatepark and the playground at RiverPlay Village.

Anyone wishing to tour Friends new Clubhouse can call 971.205.2463 or email info@friendslanecountyor.org to arrange a visit. Face-masks and social-distancing will be required in the facility. A public Open House event may occur when the COVID-19 outbreak subsides locally.
