Kat Kilbourn joins Friends of the Children – Lane County with a strong background in youth advocacy and criminal justice. She holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Oregon. Kat has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across diverse communities. Kat has worked in case management and juvenile court settings, where she developed a passion for equitable, trauma-informed care and effective system navigation.
Throughout her career, Kat has been committed to empowering young people and strengthening family systems through compassionate, client-centered support. She brings a collaborative approach to her work, along with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of the challenges facing justice-involved and at-risk populations. Kat is proud to continue her work in Oregon, where she is focused on making a meaningful impact in her community through her role as a Friend.
Outside of work, Kat enjoys spending time with her dog, Murphy the Meatball, and connecting with friends. She loves being outdoors—especially camping and swimming—as well as homebody activities such as reading, board games, and crocheting.
