Staff: Karina Rogers

Karina Rogers joined Friends Lane County in August 2023. Karina grew up in Eugene, and is passionate about working with and serving children in Lane County. Starting in high school, she began working for the Lane County early intervention agency EC Cares, which helped to inspire her desire to work with youth. While in college at the University of Oregon, Karina began working as an instructor for Nearby Nature, an outdoor education organization that allowed her to see the power in involving the outdoors in children’s education. Karina graduated from the University of Oregon in 2022 with her Master of Education in Curriculum and Teacher Education. During her year of student teaching, Karina found that one of the things she really enjoyed were the moments she got to work one on one with her students. In her current work as a mentor, she is excited to continue to get to work with kids one on one in a long term and consistent way. She is eager to utilize her background experience working with youth to support kids in all aspects of their lives.

Karina enjoys traveling, and has the goal of visiting all seven continents in her life. In her free time, she also enjoys hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and spending as much time outside as possible.
