Starting in July of 2020, Friends Lane County launched an innovative organization aimed at breaking cycles of multi-generational disadvantage for good. Our unique accomplishes that through intensive long-term mentorship of children for 12+ years... No Matter What.
Why Your Support Matters:
Research demonstrates that every $1 dollar invested in Friends of the Children $7 dollars are saved in our community. Children that graduate our program will graduate high school, avoid parenting in their teens and avoid juvenile justice at roughly 3x the rates of children from similar backgrounds.
Our Impact Since Launching in Lane County:
- Over 32,000 hours of direct support provided to trauma impacted families
- Despite 78% of parents reporting that Friends helped their family navigate through major crises last year:
- 100% of children in our program have remained in school and graduated to their next grade level each year.
- 100% have avoided the juvenile justice system
